'The making of' Hammer & Rain: reflections through time, a documentary film

ONLINE

Official Selection: Boston Independent Film Awards December 2021 Semi-Finalist: Boden International Film Festival, Sweden

Hammer & Rain features diverse female artists, all over the age of 50. We address the pandemic, issues of race, anti-semitism, the sexualization of Asian bodies and the long term effects after contracting Covid. This film also shines a light on the collaboration and process between myself as composer and four, stylistically different, choreographers. We challenge the concept of 'aging' and what it means to move and create at a later stage in our lives. The pandemic pushed me to move out of my comfort zone and into the world of documentary film-making. If you enjoy contemporary dance and modern music, this film is for you.
